Sensory Rooms
What’s a sensory room, anyway?
Sensory rooms are a space for neurodivergent adults and youth to go and decompress. Calming and designed to reduce stimuli by offering a quiet environment with soft lighting and sensory items such as tactile murals, these spaces offer those who are neurodivergent a calm retreat to go and enjoy some time without stress.
Summerside Centre:
Under the Seas
Featuring a tactile mural, and a jellyfish who’s tentacles make a great tent, this sensory room offers a calm, underwater experience. All murals and details are handpainted and glow under blacklight, and the lights are always on slow, calm modes to promote a sense of peace.
